Dr.  Chapman is a Licensed Psychologist who specializes in providing assessment and consultation services for youth affected by trauma. She earned her PhD in School Psychology from Michigan State University and her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Central Michigan University. Her training and experience in both school psychology and clinical psychology provides a unique perspective of effective supports for both mental health and educational needs.

By providing comprehensive psychological assessments for children and adolescents, she is able to evaluate specific referral concerns and provide an overall assessment of an individual’s functioning. She uses a variety of psychological, neuropsychological, personality, and social-emotional assessments to assess concerns related to posttraumatic stress disorder, adjustment disorders, reactive attachment disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, learning disabilities, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, and disruptive, impulse-control and conduct disorders. Her goal when conducting evaluations is to identify strengths that will help the individual succeed, identify barriers that may make treatment challenging, and help identify what the child may be struggling with and why the challenge may exist.

Dr. Chapman is also trained in evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Behavior Therapy. She assists clients and families struggling with a variety of concerns including anxiety and social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, depressive disorders, trauma and adjustment disorders, and behavioral disorders. Finally, she is also available to provide consultation services and speak at schools, physician’s offices, and community events.

Dr. Chapman is currently the Lead Clinical Psychologist at Community Mental Health for Central Michigan. Dr Chapman also takes pride in her Alma Mater , Central Michigan University, as she is an adjunct instructor in the School Psychology department. Previously she was the Staff Psychologist at Eagle Village in Hersey, MI.
